The clouds came in, took a mere 15 minutes for the sun to disappear and in another 5 minutes the thunder started. I hoofed it in panic the 4 miles back to the car and despite the clouds, wind, and thunder, I don't think it got even 5 degrees cooler! That all probably falls under the category of "Be careful, you might get what you asked for..."Richard O'Neillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02220291149016460968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954169774784248994.post-35539727441122279132017-07-28T21:26:29.444-07:002017-07-28T21:26:29.444-07:00The Rogue Gorge is virtually across the street fro...The Rogue Gorge is virtually across the street from the Union Creek Store, it's just to the north of Beckie's Restaurant. I snowshoed to the gorge one winter, that was memorable with all the icicles clinging to the gorge walls. Natural Bridge is several miles to the south of Union Creek and is well marked on the highway.Richard O'Neillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02220291149016460968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954169774784248994.post-42301104784127742052017-07-28T08:54:24.614-07:002017-07-28T08:54:24.614-07:00Now as I read this, I wish the rain was here inste...Now as I read this, I wish the rain was here instead of 100 degree weather. Oh the woes of a hiker -- snow, rain, heat, and misquitoes....but that is what makes hiking exciting. I look forward now to hiking the gorge area in Autumn.....Glenn and Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07753921250399375985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954169774784248994.post-19893156566233036872017-07-27T13:04:20.112-07:002017-07-27T13:04:20.112-07:00Wow that's a really cool sight! Probably not too far away from the Union Creek Resort where I stayed this winter when I snowshoed at Crater Lake.Linda W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00805197763483105000noreply@blogger.com
